What is CarGuessr?
CarGuessr is a free browser game where you guess the prices of real cars. You are shown a car listing with photos and specifications, and you try to guess the price as accurately as possible. It is inspired by GeoGuessr but for car valuations. Learn more on our About page.
Is CarGuessr free to play?
Yes, CarGuessr is completely free. You can play Challenge Mode, Time Attack, Streak Mode, and Stay at Zero without an account. Creating a free account unlocks the Daily Challenge, friend challenges, achievements, and personal statistics. See our How to Play guide for details on each mode.
Where do the car listings come from?
Easy Mode cars come from real UK dealership listings with current market prices. Hard Mode cars come from auction house catalogues featuring classic, vintage, and exotic vehicles with actual sale prices. Read more on the About page. Please note that prices are historical — see our Disclaimer.
How does the scoring work?
In Challenge Mode, you earn up to 5,000 points per car based on how close your guess is to the actual price. The maximum score across 10 cars is 50,000. Time Attack adds bonus points for speed, while Streak Mode requires guessing within 10% accuracy. For a full breakdown, visit the How to Play guide.
What is the difference between Easy and Hard mode?
Easy Mode features modern used cars from UK dealerships with typical market prices, making it ideal for beginners. Hard Mode features classic and exotic cars from auction houses, with prices ranging from a few thousand to several hundred thousand pounds.
Do I need an account to play?
No, you can play most game modes without an account. However, creating a free account gives you access to the Daily Challenge, friend challenges, achievement tracking, and a personal statistics dashboard.
How does the Daily Challenge work?
Every day, the same set of 10 cars is selected for all players. You get one attempt to guess the prices, and everyone competes on the same daily leaderboard. Results reset at midnight.
How do friend challenges work?
Once logged in, you can create a friend challenge which generates a unique code. Share this code with friends and they can join. Everyone plays the same cars, and a private leaderboard shows who guessed best.
Are the prices in GBP?
Yes, all car prices on CarGuessr are displayed in British Pounds (GBP). Easy Mode shows UK dealership prices, and Hard Mode shows auction sale prices, both in pounds sterling.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes, CarGuessr is fully responsive and works on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers. The interface adapts to your screen size for the best experience on any device.
How can I improve my guesses?
Pay close attention to the car's year, mileage, brand, and condition in the photos. Premium brands command higher prices, low mileage increases value, and newer cars are generally worth more. We have a full list of tips on our How to Play page.
Is my data safe?
Yes, we take data protection seriously. We only collect the minimum data needed to run the game and your account. We comply with UK GDPR and you can request deletion of your data at any time. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Are the car prices accurate and up to date?
Car prices are sourced from real listings and auction results at the time they were added. They may not reflect current market values. CarGuessr is a game and should not be used for vehicle purchasing decisions. See our Disclaimer.
