What is CarGuessr?
CarGuessr is a free-to-play browser game that tests your knowledge of car values. You're shown a car listing — including the make, model, year, mileage, and photos — and your job is to guess the price as accurately as possible. Think you know what a 1967 Jaguar E-Type is worth? Or a brand new BMW M3? Put your knowledge to the test.
The concept is simple but surprisingly addictive: look at the car, study the details, and make your best guess. Whether you are a seasoned petrolhead who can spot the difference between a barn find and a concours restoration, or a casual player who just wants to see if common sense gets you close, there is something here for you.
Game Modes
CarGuessr offers five distinct game modes, each designed to test a different aspect of your automotive pricing knowledge:
- Challenge Mode — 10 cars, GeoGuessr-style scoring up to 5,000 points per car. Maximum 50,000 points.
- Time Attack — Race the clock with 20 seconds per car. Speed and knowledge combine for the ultimate test.
- Daily Challenge — The same 10 cars for every player, every day. One attempt only.
- Streak Mode — Guess within 10% of the actual price or it's game over.
- Stay at Zero — An endless mode where you try to keep your cumulative price difference as low as possible.
Two Difficulty Levels
Every game mode can be played on Easy or Hard difficulty. Easy mode features modern used cars from UK dealerships — everyday vehicles with typical market prices. Hard mode features classic, vintage, and exotic cars from real auction houses, where prices can range from a few thousand to several hundred thousand pounds.
Where Do the Cars Come From?
All car listings are sourced from real automotive marketplaces and auction houses. Easy mode features genuine dealership listings, while Hard mode uses real auction catalogue entries. Every price shown is a real listing or sale price — nothing is made up or estimated. The car database refreshes on a regular cycle to keep the game fresh and prices current.

CarGuessr was built by Adz, a software developer and car enthusiast based in the United Kingdom. The project is built with React, Go, and PostgreSQL and is actively maintained and regularly updated with new features.
